Territory Description:
To the west, the Rubicund Isles are blanketed in red forests and tall mountainous peaks. Led by their Sol and Soleil, as the reincarnations of Rubi himself, the citizens of Rubicund are secretive and defensive. They thrive beneath the dense canopies and billowing fog of the sea. Their weather as varied and rough as its people.
Culture Description
The red forests of the isles is home to the Rubicund Dires. They are a religious empire that values strength above all else and see the world as theirs. Extremely xenophobic and secretive, outsiders are not trusted and those seeking to make a home within their borders must pass lucrative trials. Each member aspiring to embody the very traits of the god they worship to better both self and country. Weakness is not tolerated within their ranks and those unfit for Rubicund quickly find themselves reduced to ash.
Led By: Cancer (BellCat) and Burr (Sophia)
  • Acceptance: Open. Contact leader for AA/AR
  • Consent? No Consent

Pack Description:
In the center of the coastal basin lies the lush, temperate forests of Inaria. While they receive summer rains and thunderstorms, their winters are much more mild than most territories. Led by a single Queen, Inaria is a place of peace and learning.
Culture Description
Both members and visitors alike are welcome to come to Inaria to hone skills and seek sanctuary. While Visitors require an escort while on Inarian soil, they are welcome to take part in any and all pack activities. A bustling trading hub, Inaria encourages visitors to exchange skills, stories and items within it's borders. Travellers from other packs are welcome to stop in Inaria, interact with each other, and leave their stories at the hall of records known as the Painted Caves. Members learn from these travellers as well as their mentors. Those who are diligent in their studies eventually develop a thesis. a way to improve the pack by developing a new technique, invention or concept that will aid them. When their thesis is approved, it is publically presented and the members become Inarian elites, earning tattoos to mark their status, and "degree" and aid in the teaching of others. They welcome new cultures, history and knowledge, and share their own openly; in return they ask for visitors to leave a contribution before leaving.
Led By: Zephyr (Scy)
  • Acceptance: Open borders, please see the Guidebook for operation explainations of AA or IC.
  • Consent? Consent / Semi-Consent
  • Extra Information: Guidebook.
  • Fun Facts: Open-border policy means you do not need to be a member to RP in Inaria. Visitors welcome, but must be escorted and supervised. Violence is frowned upon. Ability to gain dyed tattoos as an Inarian Elite.

Territory Description:
Far to the southeast, connected to the mainlands via a long, treacherous peninsula, are the high-rising islands of the Te'krashi empire. Led by their shameless Captain, they are a mismatched group of members devoted to each other in a selfish, dysfunctional way of life. The dense, semi-tropical forests, caverns and rocky terrain of their isles hides more than just secrets and treasure. The Tekk denizens soak up the sunny days, riddled with pockets of storms and rains, in the lush green terrain.
Culture Description
An empire as exotic as their territory claim, the Tekk members value material wealth, pride, progress and self-made identity above all else. While they vow allegiance as a whole, each are encouraged to follow their own pursuits, so long as the greater good of the empire itself is ensured. Their captain is bold and ambitious, and expects her followers to embody the same passion for life and its vices. With fire and bones and warpaints galore, they are a decorative society that values the extravagant and theatrical.
Led By: Rita (Etkri)
  • Acceptance: Open. Contact leader for AA/AR
  • Consent? No Consent
  • Extra Information: Culture. Ranks.
  • Fun Facts: No species restrictions. All recruits and visitors must enter the territory via the Crossbones Pass. Recruits are expected to surrender any trinkets; can be returned later. Youth undergo an exile trial-period at adolescence. Accessories and tattoos reserved as a reward for contributions and loyalty.

Alpha Activity & Consistency

Postby Etkri » Fri Aug 26, 2016 8:37 pm

to be touched up/edited as needed!

Oni wrote:
ALPHA ACTIVITY AND CONSISTENCY

These are rules set in place to determine how active is active when it comes to leadership positions on the forum (canon character or otherwise). This is a policy that should be followed after December 7th---meaning activity 'requirements' count after December 7th. Alpha characters should be in character and posting frequently to set an example and create a vibe of activity. However, each pack has their own speed and threshold for activity based on theme, animal, member count, etc.

What we are asking alphas to do is post at least 4-6 times a month and to be oocly engaged with their community on forum. This is not a set in stone number. This is not a goal or limit that cannot be flexible as we understand some months will be more active than others based on real life situations (school, job seasons, health issues).

Hard Rules

+Inactivity for ONE MONTH (complete darkness, no ooc posts to provide plot and movement, no ic posts) is grounds for a warning. After a warning the player has ONE WEEK to respond to staff with reasoning for inactivity (if not already provided via going away thread) and assurance that they will become active/plans in place for pack activity. If assistance is needed please don’t hesitate to alert staff to upcoming excessive inactivity or a need for help. A plan for activity can be anything from a plot that will be icly lead by the alpha party to stating the beta is currently covering for you. Yet, please be aware that excessive inactivity can lead to a situational based alpha challenge. Make sure your pack-based community is aware and understands if a situation has pulled you away for awhile.

+Out of Character planning done on other mediums should be shown on the forum (if needed) when it comes to showing proof of activity. Not all conversations need to be nor are expected to be logged on forum but if there is a lack of posts then an alpha should consider providing proof of activity on forum for others to view and to keep the community on the same page (as multiple users may not be on other mediums outside the forum).

+If inactive for an excessive amount of time with no change in behavior the leadership party may be replaced through alpha challenge (or if a canon, removal of canon alpha character from inactive player). This is situational but important to remember, especially when it comes to canon character alphas who have their own set of activity based rules.

+If a canon character has been removed due to inactivity and has no applications/clear winner by original deadline for an excessive amount of time a custom character through alpha challenge application may take its place so long as it meets the requirements for challenge and appropriate in-character reasoning. This does not mean that if a canon character has been removed and there is a second alpha that you can disregard the current secondary alpha. If there is a non-canon character still acting in alpha capacity/in charge then normal challenge rules apply.

Internal Pack Challenge Policies

Internal Pack Challenge Policies
Originally written by Oni

Pack structure can be ever changing and dynamic. It’s cultural influence, action, and inaction is heavily decided on the leading force. Much like the constant shift of leadership in reality we have expectations that members through in character interaction may be eager to create a change through plot based or necessary means.
Ultimately, one must understand that internal Pack Challenges are examined on a case-by-case basis.

Key Concepts to Remember

The culture and shifts in a pack often shift and change with their current memberbase, and therefore may be subject to leadership changes throughout time. While they may be voluntary through ritual or ceremony or birthright, it is also possible that leaderships may be overthrown or forcibly replaced.
Please know that the leadership and committment required for running a forum pack is not to be taken lightly, as it is a responsibility to not only oversee and fairly govern matters In-Character, but also Out-of-Character. Nevertheless, there is a process in which these leaderships may be challenged for the forum's packs. Keep in mind that leaders who are doing well or experiencing temporary real-life hardships are not necessarily acceptable targets for challenges. The purpose of this process is, instead, intended for packs whose activity is failing, leadership is absent, or where it is simply entirely ICly appropriate. Ultimately, the Staff's concern when regarding these challenges is the stability of the roleplay and the sanctity of IC development.

Below are the terms, rules, and application for the Internal Pack Leadership Challenges. If you are alpha of the pack and consent to a leadership change please alert the Staff to the plot. If you are a character that intends to challenge without consent from the alpha, please alert the Staff and fill out the following challenge below.

Rules for Challenging
  • Pack leadership can be challenged no more than once every six months.
  • The character making the challenge must have been consistently active during the past six months, and must have been in IC existence for at least one year. This is to ensure the longevity and reliability of the new potential leader.
  • While applications are required for all pack leadership challenges, there are special situations in which extra information may be required. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to: the alpha willingly stepping down, alpha inactivity against forum standards, among others. Please allow time for discussion by the staff team during non-standard situations that may lead to pack challenges.
  • Grudges and OOC conflict are no grounds for a challenge of this magnitude. Manipulation, loopholes, and harassment will not be taken lightly and will count against whomever acts upon such. Pack leadership challenges should solely be for the betterment of IC development and the pack's well-being. Any player discovered using these means are subject to having their cause automatically voided by the Staff. If you cannot conduct yourself in a mature manner, then you're not fit for leadership.
  • Past examples of extreme immaturity, irresponsibility, bullying, negative behavior, etc of a player could hurt the players chances of having their application accepted.
  • Fight terms between participating parties must be as fair as possible, unless otherwise agreed upon by all participating parties. This takes into consideration the amount of participants per side, as well as the species of participants. If there are multiple alphas, it would be wise to bring multiple challengers. Packs with a single alpha require only one challenger. Terms of a challenge should be negotiated before the challenge takes place, or the Staff may need to intervene.
  • Consent/No-consent is based on the board pack rules for fights.
  • All challenges must place the tag [CHALLENGE] in the roleplay title. The deadlines are as such: The challenged party then has ONE WEEK to reply to the challenge. All further posts abide by a FOUR DAY deadline. Any spectators who miss the posting deadline will be skipped automatically. Any fighter participating who misses the posting deadline will be automatically skipped, and all attempted damage will have hit. Continually missing your deadline will result in a loss.
  • However, the Staff are aware that there may be extrenuating circumstances in real life that would require a deadline. If this occurs, the party must contact the Staff and the other party to discuss an appropriate deadline extension, if any. The maximum extension is two days, and this can only be done twice per party.
  • If a canon character has been removed due to inactivity and has no applications/clear winner by original deadline for an excessive amount of time a custom character through alpha challenge application may take its place so long as it meets the required rules and appropriate in character reasoning. This does not mean that if a canon character has been removed and there is a second alpha that you can disregard the current secondary alpha. If there is a non-canon character still acting in alpha capacity/in charge then normal challenge rules apply.

IC Fighting Rules:
  • Once you establish a posting order, you must stick to it.
  • Whether the fight is consent vs. no consent is reliant on the challenged pack's fighting rules: Understand the risks.
  • Each character will only be skipped three times before being booted from the fight, no exceptions.
  • Take the fight seriously. Once you choose your players/characters you cannot exchange them. If they fail to post, you must continue without them.
  • Staff does not want to meddle in pack creativity or ic activity. Our involvement will be minimal and only where necessary.
  • These rules will be updated and adjusted based on feedback and need.

Information concerning Usermade Packs will be posted here once available!
As of right now, Usermade Pack territory is closed off until more canon packs are introduced and the forum activity is sustainable enough to support all current packs and then some.
